Mercat Central de Tarragona

Tarragona's gastronomic heart. The 1915 Modernista building houses the city's most important municipal market, with over 100 stalls. Fruit and vegetables from the Camp de Tarragona (km0), fresh fish from the Serrallo fish market, artisan meats and charcuterie, local cheeses, Reus PGI hazelnuts, Siurana DO olive oil and flowers. The salt-cured anchovies stall is one of the market's hidden gems.

Mercat del Serrallo

The fishermen's market where Serrallo fishermen sell the day's catch directly. Tarragona red prawns, mantis shrimps, lobsters, sea bass, sea bream and all the local Mediterranean catch. For visitors with a kitchen, you can buy the same seafood served at the city's best restaurants. The auction takes place each afternoon.
